Newmarket kicked off and five minutes in and man of the match Lachie Allan found space in the box to head home, Newmarket kept the pressure on and Jack Kerwin made it 2 with 20 minutes gone. Before the end of the first half Jordan Sharpe pounced on a loose ball for Newmarkets third but St ives battled on and scored just on half time.

Second half Newmarket pushed hard and a long ball from the back found Jon Allen who finished well, this was shortly followed by a well taken second for Jon Allen, St ives then broke through to score a second, Newmarket battled to the end and Jordan Sharpe netted to take the tally to six.
